As someone who was both a publisher and reporter for my college newspaper, I was very proud to be a co sponsor on Resolution 372, calling on the New York City Department of Education to provide support for a student newspaper at every high school and to vote for it today.

I wanna give a special shout out to 2 of my student interns who worked on their high school newspaper and podcast, Jackson O'Brien and Selma Bach, I also wanna point out that Selma is a member of the New York City youth journalism coalition that advocated for this resolution.

I also wanna point out that my interns did a video for me on Instagram.

That's a TikTok kind of experience.

So anybody that wants to see it, it's gotten over a thousand views, and it's really amazing the work they did.

And with that, I vote I on all.
