And finally, we're presenting to you the Frederick Douglass Memorial Park at 321 Amboy Road.

It is the only extent non six ter sectarian cemetery in New York City that was founded by and for African Americans at a time when discrimination and segregation excluded them from other cemeteries.

At the public hearing on May 21st this year, the commission received support for the proposed designation from 5 speakers.

Including 2 board representatives of the owner, counsel member Camilla Hanks, chair of this subcommittee, the New York's the New York Landmark's conservancy, and the Historic District's Council.

No one spoke in opposition and the commission also received 8 letters, including a joint letter signed by the 3 council members from Staten Island, chairhanks, council member Carr, and council member Birelli.
