Do we know how many clients are currently enrolled in the CUNY Edge program?
Scott French
1:23:32
Yes.
1:23:33
So at for the for the beginning of the fall 2024 semester, there were 265 enrollments.
1:23:42
But that number is expected to increase quite a bit as the semester begins, and even more people are engaged and outraged about the program and what it really offers them.
1:23:50
I can say that since January 2024 for CUNY Edge, the enrollment has been 1309 team.
1:23:59
And then since spring 2020, CUNY EDGE students have earned a total of 5336 degrees.
1:24:08
That's 2421.
1:24:10
Associate degrees and 2915 bachelor's degrees.
Diana I. Ayala
1:24:17
Like, can you repeat that?
Scott French
1:24:18
Sure.
Diana I. Ayala
1:24:19
How many associates?
Scott French
1:24:21
2421.
1:24:25
And then 2915 batch dollars.
Diana I. Ayala
1:24:29
That's great.
Scott French
1:24:30
Yep.
Diana I. Ayala
1:24:31
I was gonna ask whether these are associates of bachelor's degrees.
1:24:37
That's wonderful.
1:24:38
I'm so excited about that.
1:24:39
That was a really good program.
Scott French
1:24:41
It's an excellent program.
1:24:43
We're very proud of it.
1:24:44
We're very proud of our relationship with CUNY, and we think it really does similar to how other job experiences allow people give them supports to sort of acclimate to the workplace.
1:24:56
This also is hugely helpful and supportive of individuals to help them understand how they sort of maintain education as well as whatever else might be going on in their lives, and that knowing they have this place to go, to seek support, to help them navigate through it and stay with their education is really essential in something we're very proud of.
Diana I. Ayala
1:25:15
No.
1:25:15
Absolutely.
1:25:15
Are are all of these schools tied to I mean, I'm assuming that most of them are to child care?
1:25:22
Services?
Scott French
1:25:23
Yeah, their child childcare supports are offered through CUNIAGE, as well as transportation reports, which also is connected into someone's cash assistance case.
1:25:34
Right?
1:25:35
So individuals on cash assistance right, who have a childcare need.
1:25:38
We will provide them with childcare, and so we coordinate that through and with their schedule with CUNY and provide those services to individuals.
Diana I. Ayala
1:25:45
That's that's perfect.
1:25:47
Yeah.
1:25:47
The one I the one that I went to was a bronze community, and they had daycare.
1:25:52
So I had 2 children at the time.
1:25:54
1 was going into kindergarten.
1:25:55
The other one was going into what would be now pre k 3 k.
1:25:59
And I was able to get them.
1:26:02
And so the they had an elementary school on campus, which was perfect because I would go in.
1:26:08
I would drop off the kids and go to school, and we will all be in school the whole day, and then we will go home at 3 o'clock.
1:26:13
And, you know, come back again the following day, but it really gave me the peace of mind, you know, to be able to focus specifically on the schooling and not have to worry about, you know, traveling and, you know, who's gonna take care of the kids today and you know, everything was squared away.
1:26:32
It was part of, like, a package deal, and I it was it worked seamlessly.
1:26:36
I don't know why, you know, it like, I I had never heard of it before.
1:26:43
But I am really proud of the fact that we have that.
