Council Member Brooks-Powers inquires about the Department of Transportation's (DOT) involvement in ferry expansion studies. Rick Rodriguez from DOT responds to the questions.
- DOT does not have any active studies that are out of step with EDC's ferry team's work.
- DOT is not conducting any separate studies from the work being done by EDC or NYC Ferries.
- Regarding the legislation sponsored by Brooks-Powers calling for a study of ferry expansion in the Rockaways, DOT recommends aligning it with the current process led by EDC's ferry team.

Thank you for that.

And then the DOT, I just wanted to to the backs of the studies.
1:24:44
I just wanted to ask, does DOT have any active studies right now that we should be aware of in terms of exploring very expansions globally speaking?
Rick Rodriguez
1:24:56
There are no studies that are reflecting anything out of step with what the various team at EDC has said.
Selvena Brooks-Powers

And can you just bring them right closer?
Rick Rodriguez
1:25:06
Yeah.
1:25:06
There are no studies that DOT is taking on separate from the work that is being done at Illinois c or New York City fairies.
Selvena Brooks-Powers

And do you have any concerns with the legislation as sponsored by me calling on you to do a study for a very patient

Of course, we would recommend it to reflect the the current nature of how expansion is being done, that it's being led through the various team at EDC.

But that's something we feel we would address in, you know, the back and forth after a hearing.
