The Edison building, 345 Adams, is well known to, I think, probably certainly, every member of the city council from Brooklyn because that's where the board of elections is.

And, you know, Downtown Brooklyn has been undergoing dramatic changes in recent decades, and it's important that we continue to recognize and celebrate the rich architectural history of some of the buildings that had made Downtown Brooklyn great.

Where the ground floor spaces or the first two floors, I believe, were condoed out to a developer to make them for dynamic retail spaces and decast the city owns the remainder of the building.

It's critically important to me that we preserve the beautiful architecture of this building, and I've been working with some of the city associations in the area to advance this goal while also ensuring that The retail spaces can be activated and that we develop an effective plan with LPC while this is under counsel review to ensure that these retail spaces can be to the benefit of our community.
