  • The Community Board approved the application with a vote of 24-0-1, with conditions
  • The Borough President and City Planning Commission recommended approval of the application
  • The only permanent environmental impact identified is a shadow cast on a nearby church, which MSK is prepared to mitigate
  • Temporary impacts related to construction and noise will be addressed through consultation with the council member, nearby school, and neighbors

With regard to the bureau president, the bureau president recommended approval of the application without condition on height, And with regard to the city planning commission, they also approved the application unanimously.

They did reference a hike and said they found the hike appropriate.

During that hearing, nine people spoke in favor of the application and 3 people spoke in opposition to the application.

We have no permanent impacts identified in the FEIS on-site.

Our building once built will cast a shadow on certain windows of a nearby church and that has triggered a shadow impact.

We have some thoughts about how to address that.

We won't really be able to nail it down until the building is built to the point where those shadows can be confirmed and studied, but we're fully prepared to mitigate that aspect that is the only permanent environmental impact in the application.

We have a very robust list of items that we want to bring to the table in consultation with the council member.
