Gjergj Jorgoni, a parent with children attending or soon to attend PS 183, expressed support for MSK's mission but voiced concerns about the lack of communication and potential risks to children from the construction project. • Called for more detailed plans from MSK on how they will mitigate risks to children at PS 183
  • Suggested potential solutions such as relocating playground areas or creating indoor play spaces
  • Highlighted recent discovery of asbestos in buildings being demolished and the need for more information on remediation procedures

It's Jared but I go by George.
3:09:10
You're gone.
3:09:11
He's the last name.
3:09:12
And yeah.
3:09:13
My my wife, I think, was was coming up right after me around the, ma'am.
3:09:17
I will speak on behalf of both of us.
3:09:19
My wife is a doctor and the neighborhood as well at Cornell.
3:09:23
Greatly support the mission of MSK as well.
3:09:26
I've had family who's who's died because of cancer.
3:09:30
So very, very close to that as well.
3:09:33
No questions around the mission of MSK, of course, but wanted to echo with the other parents in the neighborhood have voiced as concerns.
3:09:41
My daughter goes to a PS 183 and my son is two years old, and we'll be going there hopefully soon as well.
3:09:47
And we're we're greatly concerned with the lack of communication.
3:09:51
I I think we've recently found out that there was asbestos in the buildings that are being demolished.
3:09:57
And I I I think in terms of compensation or remediation procedures.
3:10:04
I don't think there's been enough said in specificity from MSK as to how they they plan to mediate or mitigate some of the risks to the children at PS 183.
3:10:16
So for instance, you know, there there are options to to I don't know if we're located in the school, somewhere in the neighborhood is possible, but perhaps closing some of the open areas, the the yard that they where they go and play every day could be turned into an indoor playground or There are a lot of a lot of mitigation options that could be discussed and talked about prior to to the approval of this project.
3:10:42
I'm surprised that that hasn't that hasn't happened yet.
3:10:46
So, again, to support the MSK mission, I I I don't think there's enough there had not enough has been done to kind of voice all the parents concerns and the community concerns here.
3:10:57
Just to echo what the other parents said.
3:10:59
Thanks again.
Kevin C. Riley
3:11:02
