Julie Clark, representing the PS 23 PTA, addressed the city council regarding Memorial Sloan Kettering's (MSK) construction project adjacent to the school. She emphasized the need for high safety standards and mitigation measures to protect children's health during construction.
- Requested MSK provide air quality mitigation measures, including upgrading school AC units with high-grade filters
- Expressed concern that PS 23 has been an afterthought in the project planning
- Called for more detailed transparency from MSK and Council Member Menin's office regarding safety measures during demolition and construction

I'm here to remind members of the city council, including representative men in that should this project move forward, We are holding MSK.

You are holding MSK and the construction team to the highest standards for everyone's health, safety, and well-being.

Given that the construction side is adjacent to school, it is important to ensure that all work performed in a manner that is protective of children who are at a heightened risk of adverse health outcomes related to environmental exposures.

We ask MSK provide the school with mitigation measures to alleviate potential air quality issues during the duration of construction and demolition.

We understand by entering into the agreement of the community board that they in entering into the agreement with county board aid MSK assured that it would act in good faith as a neighbor.

For as long as PS 23 and MSK have existed, There has always been a relationship.

MSK employs a large number of 183 families, and in turn, provide visiting fellows, scientists, doctors, nurses, and employees with the world class public school education for their children to attend during their time.

We've recognized that in the past you've been supportive of our school and sponsored some of our community events.
