Thank you.
2:58:30
I'm Roseanne Ahmad.
2:58:31
I'm the single mother of a 3rd grader who attends Tia's 183.
2:58:35
I've lived in the area for 10 years and recently became a homeowner at 1175 York Avenue.
2:58:41
To be clear, I support the mission of MSK, but I'm objecting to this project for various reasons.
2:58:47
Number 1, the lack of transparency in open communication by MSK, the lack of community engagement by MSK to the neighbors and families impacted by this massive proposal and most importantly the apparent lack of mitigation efforts as it relates to the noise and air pollution generated by this project.
2:59:04
Regarding the lack of community engagement, either three blocks away, I'm a full time working lawyer, and I'm very involved in the school as a volunteer.
2:59:13
But what I've noticed is very few parents know about this.
2:59:16
It's interesting to hear about MSK's significant outreach efforts to the community for 18 months because it is clearly a failure here.
2:59:26
A lot of the families here are blindsided by this project.
2:59:29
Next, as a layperson, I have no expert at quality.
2:59:33
What I can say is when school started last week, and we started to walk to school, you can see how the air is dirty and it's gross.
2:59:41
And my son was like, what's that smell?
2:59:43
And I was like, I think that's the project.
2:59:46
We decided to walk, get off York Avenue, and walk on First Avenue instead.
2:59:51
So my question to the city council members is how is this safe?
2:59:54
My question to MSK is, would you want to live here?
2:59:57
Would you want to go to school here?
2:59:59
Would you want to walk past this area?
3:00:02
It it's really disturbing.
3:00:04
As far as traffic, That's another story.
3:00:08
That is dangerous to walk to school.
3:00:10
It's a rush in the morning and in the afternoon.
3:00:12
We're squeezing in two directions to make our way to school.
3:00:16
And there's really it's really very little accountability by MSK here.
3:00:20
And I think that as much as we love and support MSK and what it stands for, I really don't want us, the children, the families, and the teachers to develop cancer as a result of this project.
3:00:32
And for what I can see right now, there is very little trust

I must be saying.
