This with great honor, I stand before you on this historic day as you deliberate on the passage of this most significant legislation that serves as a milestone towards restoring opportunity for those who have been disadvantaged and disenfranchised, and to create a hollowed space.

We humbly beseech your throne of grace and mercy as we invoke your presence with us today.

We ask that your spirit would descend upon us in this chamber and give guidance to the hearts and minds of those whom you have sovereignly chosen to represent the people of this great city.

Grant them wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to govern over the affairs of your people and the complexities that we face in our ever changing world.

Give to them the insight of the sons of Isacar that they may be able to discern the times and seasons in which we live and respond justly with grace and mercy.
