What strategies does ACC use to recruit and retain volunteers?
Risa Weinstock
1:07:21
We hold regular volunteer orientations.
1:07:23
We have a volunteer department with a manager who is charged with creating the program and seeing the program through determining what level of animal husbandry you not only want to do, but are qualified to do.
1:07:40
There are also lots of other ways that people can volunteer.
1:07:44
They don't have to necessarily handle animals.
1:07:47
We have it on social media.
1:07:49
We post it on our website.
1:07:53
We ask all of our stakeholders to share our information about when we have volunteer trainings.
1:08:01
We recently did one in Queens.
1:08:04
In person, there were over a hundred people who signed up to volunteer in Queens.
1:08:08
And then the process from there is onboarding.
Lynn C. Schulman
1:08:12
Mhmm.
1:08:13
K.
1:08:13
On average, I'm going back to Spain and Newnan for a minute.
1:08:16
On average, how many animals does ACC spay on Newnan per month?
Risa Weinstock
1:08:21
Per month.
Adia Cohen
1:08:22
Mhmm.
Lynn C. Schulman
1:08:23
Wanna do it per year?
1:08:24
Is that what you have?
Risa Weinstock
1:08:25
Well, I would say give me a second.
1:08:34
On average, per month, we stay 400 animals.
1:08:39
Okay.
Lynn C. Schulman
1:08:41
What are your biggest challenging challenges in implementing the city's Spain new to requirements?
1:08:47
And why the some of the things the city can do to help alleviate these issues?
Risa Weinstock
1:08:52
So there are 2 main challenges.
1:08:55
1 is the number of animals coming in that needs Faye and Euter.
1:09:01
So we have to keep up with that.
1:09:03
And then the second challenge is staffing.
1:09:06
You need a lot of people to do Spay Nuder.
1:09:11
It's not just the veterinarian.
1:09:12
You need the support staff.
1:09:15
So it's resources Mhmm.
1:09:17
And it's trying to address what's coming in.
