Good morning, counsel.
2:57:38
My name is Adia Cohen.
2:57:40
I am the cofounder.
2:57:42
I am the founder and CEO of Bronx Doug Haven, a nonprofit organization dedicated to resources of development in Bronx Community.
2:57:53
We started off as a socialization group in Melrose Projects.
2:57:59
We later on gradually became what you see today, which is now developing, reopening, rescuing, spreading the word for Sweden neutering.
2:58:13
We also developed a pantry that we do once a month, and then we leave a month for emergency food.
2:58:21
What we found is we work with people that own animals, and what we found with them is that a lot of them can't afford foods or don't know that regular kibble isn't the only thing that they can feed their their pets.
2:58:37
So we teach them how to cook for their animals.
2:58:40
We teach them other cost efficient ways to be able to keep their pets.
2:58:45
We also rely on sister rescues and nonprofit organizations for help to be able to get harnesses, leashes, collars, and things like that so that they are able to keep their dogs safe We also give out cages.
2:59:04
I think our urgency is just like she said, we deal with a lot in the Bronx, and we wanna make sure that we have a lot more people that can get the hope when it comes to surgeries instead of them just surrendering their pets and or just leaving them in the projects for people like us to them pick up, have to re home, rehabilitate, and make sure that they can get the help that they need and hopefully find a good home.
