Hi there.
6:58:06
My name is Christine Canalee.
6:58:09
I am just an individual that cats started to find, and then I became a rescuer colony taken care of or whatever else comes up.
6:58:19
5 and a half years ago, I received a very strong cancer diagnosis and went through major treatments and then metastasized and still going through.
6:58:30
But I said, give me a way to get back for all my receiving.
6:58:34
And the cats, dogs, birds, found me.
6:58:39
I have been not able to work.
6:58:41
Disability doesn't cover much.
6:58:43
So I stay where I can.
6:58:44
It's been in 3 low income Bronx neighborhoods where it seems that people really do not know what to do with the animals and wind up on the street.
6:58:59
I would have come across a cruelty.
6:59:01
The police department has not been very helpful.
6:59:05
I'm not sure if I'm being heard.
6:59:07
I guess they're busy.
6:59:10
Okay.
6:59:13
Like these wonderful people here, I am incredibly moved by the people that are coming here, and I'm incredibly moved and really hopeful by the interest and the questions being asked.
6:59:23
And I'm please Police, you know what needs to be done.
6:59:27
I don't know how to make these things happen.
6:59:30
Education also is key.
6:59:32
Where I'm living now is a horror story one day after the next of people not knowing what to do.
6:59:37
And a cat that was bone being seen by the dog in the house biting it and leaving it for 4 days before bringing it someplace and then not knowing where to bring it.
6:59:50
We can't have this.
6:59:52
How do people know where to go?
6:59:55
Thank you.
