commissioner, how do you track compliance with the the pet law?
Corinne Schiff
0:43:12
We we do our annual inspection, so every pet shop has to have a permit from us.
0:43:17
Mhmm.
0:43:17
And we will do an annual routine inspection.
0:43:21
And then inspections in response to complaints, and that's how we identify whether the shops are in compliance with a host of issues, not only the source and prohibitions that have been set out by the council and the local law, but the health code sets out a range of animal welfare provisions that pet shops have to follow.

Is there a number or some place that people can connect with at DOHMH to report somebody that's out of compliance.
Corinne Schiff

People who who observe patch ups out of compliance should call 311 and we we take those complaints and follow-up.
Lynn C. Schulman

Corinne Schiff

Let me see if we can get the answer to that while we're here.
