Council Member Abreu raises concerns about potential flooding risks at the site, given its proximity to water and lower elevation. The panel outlines their flood mitigation strategies.
- The site is in two flood zones: X and E
- The first floor will be raised to 2 feet 7 inches above grade
- Wet floodproofing will be implemented in residential areas
- Dry floodproofing will be used in commercial areas
- Mechanical and electrical equipment will be raised an additional 2 feet above the first floor level

Can you speak to what potential risk of flooding there could be or what your mitigation plan would be if it's a likely site given it's placed near the water and it's lower it's also lower play it's placed in a lower level.

We're in two foot zones, an x and e, and we basically raised the first floor to two foot 7, and we're gonna do wet floodproofing in the residential area.
0:47:30
And dry floodproofing at the commercial area and also take that into our site design.
Shaun Abreu
