Shaneeka Wilson expresses strong opposition to development, citing safety concerns, flooding issues, and environmental hazards. She emphasizes that the proposed location is unsuitable for residential development due to multiple risk factors.
- Wilson highlights flooding risks, air and noise pollution from nearby elevated trains and Amtrak, and potential displacement of residents.
- She criticizes the developer's flood mitigation measures as insufficient, noting that residents would still face difficulties during flood events.
- Wilson also mentions that the proposed bulkhead would obstruct views, potentially impacting residents' quality of life.

So good afternoon, everyone.
1:01:30
Really quickly, I just kinda wanna reiterate what councilman Holden said earlier in regards to Colby Corner.
1:01:37
Everything is not about profit.
1:01:39
We have to encounter safety issues, flooding issues.
1:01:44
Again, as Miss Khan just said, I don't need to reiterate everything that was already said and has been presented ad nauseam in testimony and in hearings.
1:01:52
What I will just say is that You've mentioned you accounted for flooding, but how will the residents leave their homes realistically?
1:02:01
So the homes may not get flooded.
1:02:02
The apartments may not get flooded because you're building that two foot had to ramp They still have to leave their homes and go on about their day.
1:02:10
So it it you're aware that it's in a flood zone.
1:02:13
You're taking measures to counteract it, but you can't counteract mother nature.
1:02:17
And so to miss Khan's point, it's still going to be an issue those residents will still likely have to be displaced.
1:02:25
There's so many points I wanna make.
1:02:27
I don't wanna keep you all.
1:02:28
I just will say air contamination, noise pollution, by the way, the MTA even ask that when developers are looking to build near their elevated trains that they consider 500 feet, and this obviously is not that.
1:02:43
And then fumes Amtrak fumes, which we've discussed we talked about Ginny's garden as naughty and and nauseam.
1:02:50
And you're going to have an issue with those fields for the residents.
1:02:54
So you've got the air pollution, you've got the noise pollution, you've got flooding.
1:02:58
This is not a good idea for residency.
1:03:02
I don't know how to make it any clearer, and I think councilmen have brought you once desperately to have housing and out district and I commend that, this is not the place for it.
1:03:11
And one last thing, Calcutta and O'BRAO, you did ask if it obstructs the view, but the bulk head does.
1:03:18
The bulk head does obstruct the view.
1:03:20
So, yes, we have the river bank on the side, but it doesn't obstruct the view the same way a bulkhead will if you're going right to the vestibule to look over at the sunset over the water.
1:03:31
Something to keep in mind that your residence
