Council Member Gennaro describes the collaborative process that follows the initial hearing of bills. He explains how bills evolve and change before they are voted on.
- Bills often change between their introduction and the final vote
- There is an ongoing collaborative process to improve the bills
- The process can take time to ensure they 'get it right'

And so to use an analogy, we have sort of, like, you know, clay that's kind of like on the potter's wheels, so to speak.
2:58:15
And so and the purpose of this hearing is to figure out how we can make the bills better, how we can I mean, we can so there's a whole collaborative process that's going to, you know, commence now?

Mhmm.

So when people talk about vote for this 1 and don't vote for this 1, I know that means you support 1 and and and and not the other, but it is always the case that bills once they're introduced, don't by the time they get voted up up or down, they don't look exactly like they were when they were first heard.

And so, you know, hence this ongoing processes, sometimes it takes a while to get it done because we wanna make sure we get it right.

But that's just been editorial comment.
