Commissioner Hendon proposes a way to improve coordination between the Department of Veterans Services (DVS) and organizations receiving discretionary funding from the city council.
- Approximately 50-60 organizations receive discretionary funding each year
- Currently, there's no requirement for these organizations to coordinate with DVS
- Hendon suggests mandating that funded organizations inform DVS about their events
- This coordination would allow DVS to cross-promote and amplify the impact of funded activities
- The proposal aims to maximize the effect of council investments in veteran-related initiatives

But to the other question, I think the the something the movement you're the most mister chair, we've got 50 to 60 are organizations that receive discretionary funding each year roughly.

There's nothing that that that asks that those organizations tie in with DBS so that we can cross promote and be aware of what they're doing and get the word out.

And so if there was some way that we could arrange things where if you receive counsel funding, you've got to come on the net with DBS and let us know about whatever that event is so that we can amplify it.

I don't know how that would sound as far as the legal language, but I think that's something that can definitely amplify our ability to touch folks and to just take what you're investing in through the the the council and ensure that it has the maximum effect.
