Good afternoon.
2:42:33
I will take much less than 3 minutes of your time, but thank you for being here today.
2:42:37
And thank you to Julian Menon for your support of Resolution 0 132.
2:42:42
I've lived on Roosevelt Island for 8 years, and I support this resolution.
2:42:46
Roosevelt Island is a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
2:42:49
I have 2 young children in our excellent public school.
2:42:52
PSI is 217.
2:42:54
I'm the co president of the PTA, and I serve on my co op board.
2:42:57
I'm highly involved in the island, and I work hard to make it the best it can be.

Watching Riyadh and the residents constantly disagree over priorities for the island and feeling powerless to sway the board's interest and focus is incredibly frustrating.
2:43:11
Direct elections would allow residents to have input to prioritize the issues that affect us the most.
2:43:17
And to voice our opinions with our vote.
2:43:19
We live in a representative democracy, as many of us have said, and we vote for all those who hold sway over our communities, with the exception of the Riyadh Board of Directors.
2:43:29
I hope the time has come for change and appreciate your support of Revelation 0132.
2:43:34
So we can continue to have this wonderful island, be an idyllic place for families, for senior citizens, for all the many people that call at home, and so we can influence what goes on here.
2:43:45
Thank you.
