Council Member Alexa Avilés inquires about remuneration for language access coordinators, particularly for those sharing multiple roles. Kenneth Lo from MOIA explains the current situation and historical context.
- There is currently no specific remuneration for taking on the role of language access coordinator
- MOIA had previously recommended having dedicated language access coordinators, but this requires specific budget allocations for agencies
- Some agencies have independently expanded the role of language access coordinators (e.g., TLC, DOC)
