- Various options for e-waste disposal include pop-up events, special waste sites, and retailer take-back programs

Ontario.
0:52:30
Okay.
0:52:32
Moving on to another topic, the electronic disposal program.
Joshua Goodman
0:52:36
Yes.
Chris Banks
0:52:37
Particularly, I know there's some items that still have to go through 311.
0:52:42
You may have to call and and and get it, I guess, marked.
0:52:47
But those items that are not eligible for that.
0:52:51
What reasonable accommodations are being done for elderly or people with disabilities?
0:52:57
Who can't make it to those sites?
Joshua Goodman
0:53:00
So there are you're correct, that there is no curbside program today for those items.
0:53:08
There have been small scale curbside programs in the past.
0:53:13
The options are to drop it off at one of our pop up events, to take it to a special waste site, which we have one in every borough.
0:53:23
Certain items can be brought back to the retailer for which they were purchased.
0:53:27
And then also, we have starting this year, I believe, is the first time, one community recycling event per community board.
0:53:34
So there should be and I understand.
Chris Banks
0:53:36
Well, listen, you do.
0:53:37
There are the reality is that there are some seniors and people with disabilities who never leave their home.
0:53:45
Right.
0:53:46
But, obviously, you have items that they wanna get rid of.
UNKNOWN
0:53:50
Of course,
Chris Banks
0:53:51
what reasonable accommodations are made for them to assist them, so they're not left in the door.
Joshua Goodman
0:53:57
Kate Gibson here on that?
Katie Kitchener
0:53:58
Yeah.
0:53:59
I was just gonna say that any building in the city that's over 10 units can sign up for a free electronics recycling program and
Chris Banks
0:54:05
Okay.
Katie Kitchener
0:54:06
That it'll be in your building, so you just have to bring it downstairs.
0:54:09
And it will be it's free pickup, it's free for the city, and it's free for the building.
Chris Banks
0:54:13
So that information is being distributed.
0:54:16
So okay.
0:54:17
Thank you.
0:54:18
Thank you.
0:54:18
Do you
David Carr
0:54:18
have any more questions?
0:54:19
No.
Chris Banks
0:54:19
That's it.
0:54:19
Thank
Shaun Abreu
0:54:20
you.
