Good afternoon.
2:46:02
My name is Carmen, and I'm a member of the New York Taxi Workers Alliance.
2:46:19
I've been working as an Uber driver for over 11 years, and it's very important to me to have security in my work and not constantly live in fear that I could be fired at any time.
2:46:40
The law 276 would give us this job security give us protection.
2:46:45
It would also mandate that the companies give us 14 days notice if they are to fire us.
2:46:57
We need this equitable process where drivers can be hurt.
2:47:10
Additionally, 276 can help drivers against the economic losses that we're facing due to the lockouts.
2:47:31
This law would mandate progressive discipline and would, you know, force them to have a real investigation into what actually happens, and it also would apply to lockouts.
2:47:52
I also think it's important to say in the deal between Uber and Lyft and the mayor.
2:47:58
This deal allows Uber to cheat the pay rules.

2:48:15
I just you're wrapping up now.
2:48:16
Yes.
2:48:17
Okay.

2:48:30
We need a solution that not only ends lockouts, but that raises driver pay to make up for loss of trips.
2:48:37
Cheating the payrolls is why Uber started the lockouts in the first place.
