Yeah.
5:08:47
Good afternoon, and thank you to our Woman Brooks Powers And Members of the Transportation Committee.
5:08:52
My name is Seth and Vicky, and I am Ateban New York.
5:08:55
I'm living in Queens, New York City.
5:08:57
I also work at a company Capital, a nonprofit CDFI that serves many New York City small businesses from the Hill Himalayan region.
5:09:04
Today, I'm here to testify in support of intro 100 from council member, Julie Wan, to make Losar a holiday for alternates site parking.
5:09:13
Lossar marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year, a time of renewal reflection and connection with feminine community.
5:09:20
As a tibetan, this holiday is not just a day of celebration.
5:09:23
It represents our heritage and the values we hold here.
5:09:27
Additionally, many of the small businesses I work with are owned by individuals who celebrate Lazar.
5:09:32
These entrepreneurs bring unique products, services, and cultural experiences to our neighborhoods.
5:09:38
However, during this festive time, they often face a challenge of managing parking regulations.
5:09:43
By designating Rosar as an ASP holiday, we can alleviate some of the stress associated with parking, allowing families and community members to celebrate without the added concern of moving their vehicles.
5:09:55
I would also like to take a moment to thank Chairwoman Brooks Powers for cons co sponsoring this bill.
5:10:00
Your support demonstrates your commitment to our community and our cultural diversity, and we are grateful to have you as a champion for our voices.
5:10:08
In conclusion, I urge you to support the spell and help ensure that Lazar is officially recognized by our city by doing so you not only honor our traditions, but also strengthen the fabric of our diverse community.
5:10:20
Again, thank you for your time.
