Council Member Sanchez raises concerns about errors in water debt payments, citing a case where a home was foreclosed due to a discrepancy in the account number. Albert Kramer from DEP addresses these concerns, explaining their process for handling such situations.
- DEP states that incorrect crediting of water and sewer payments is a rare occurrence.
- Payments are matched to the account number provided by the customer.
- If errors occur, customers usually notice and contact DEP, who then try to be proactive in resolving the issue.
