Launch and initial progress of MyCity

The first phase of MyCity was launched in March 2023 at mycity.nyc.gov, starting with the rollout of a childcare subsidy portal.
- Developed in collaboration with multiple city agencies and New York State's Office of Children and Family Services
- Implemented in response to the Meres report and Local Law 103 of 2022

In March of 2023, the 1st phase of the MyCITY became available at myCITY dot noyc dot gov and launched a rollout of a child care subsidy portal.

This was the first identified priority in the Meres report an accessible, equitable, high quality, affordable, a blueprint for child care and early childhood education in New York City and was later codified at by the city council through local law 103 of 2022.

It was built in collaboration with the administration for children services, New York City Schools, the Department of Social Services, and New York State's Office of Children And Family Services.

Prior to the launch of this portal, New Yorkers seeking childcare subsidies had to fill out a paper application and mail it to the agency.
