Council Member Susan Zhuang inquires about the parking provisions for both commercial and residential use in the development. Rachel Scall and Ken Fisher explain the current parking plan and rationale.

  • All 80 parking spaces are reserved for residential use.
  • No dedicated parking is provided for the commercial building.
  • The commercial building is designed for local businesses and transit-oriented offices.
  • A survey of nearby parking garages indicated vacancies in the area.

Next question related to parking.
0:39:25
So I heard you got the increased number of parking.
0:39:28
How many for commercial?
0:39:30
How many for residential?
Rachel Scall
0:39:34
Right now, all the parking is for residential.
0:39:37
The reason is that that commercial building is really designed and thought to be for local businesses, people who wanna walk to work as Kim was talking about earlier.
0:39:46
In addition, it is directly at the DNN subway lines.
0:39:50
So we really see that as transit oriented offices, local offices, and reserving the 80 parking spaces for the residents.

So there's no parking for commercial at all?
Ken Fisher
0:40:03
There's no dedicated parking for the commercial at all.
0:40:07
I I also wanna mention that that some years back, back.
0:40:14
We did a survey of parking garages in the area.
0:40:18
And if my recollection is correct, most, if not all of the parking garages within walking distance of the site had vacancies, at least the that point in time.
