Council Member Susan Zhuang inquires about the sanitation plan for the site, particularly regarding trash storage. Jay Valgora explains the approach to waste management for the development.

  • The development consists of 14 individual buildings, allowing for distributed waste management.
  • Each building will keep trash within its premises, bringing it to the curb only for collection.
  • This approach aims to minimize the burden on the community and avoid piling up trash on sidewalks.
  • Every building has a door directly to the street, facilitating individual waste management.

And then what will sanitation plan be for this set?
0:42:12
Like, how do you storage the trash there?
Jay Valgora
0:42:20
So that's a great question.
0:42:21
Thank Council member.
0:42:22
And so there are 14 individual buildings.
0:42:24
And so, you know, we take a lot of care to figure out how we're gonna handle services for each building and won't be a burden on the community.
0:42:30
So because there are 14 buildings as opposed to sort of one make a development if you will or towers where they sort of pile up the trash on the sidewalks.
0:42:38
We can actually keep the trash within each individual building and then, you know, bring it to the curb just for collection as necessary.
0:42:45
So it really divides it up.
0:42:47
Every single building, as Ken mentioned, has a door directly to the street, is required by general city law in New York City.
0:42:53
And so it really allows us to kind of divide up the services, deal with it on a smaller scale, and address it within each of the individual buildings.
0:43:01
So it's not a burden on the neighborhood.
