When I first came to this country and settled in New York, I was determined to build a better life and met manifest my version of American dream.

It it was a lifelong journey, but thanks to the support of a good job and a strong wage, I was able to earn and sent my daughter to college.

I would work hard, be treated fairly, and not have to work in fear of my safety.

The time is now to protect the workers of the industry, and that include the thousands of people who, like me, immigrated here, hoping to have a better life.
