Jennifer DeCarli explains the follow-up process for clients placed in housing through Family Justice Centers:

  • Clients are assigned a case manager from either city-contracted or community network partners
  • The case manager assists with the housing application process and continues to follow up after placement
  • The goal is to ensure clients remain safely and stably housed
  • Different organizations (e.g., Safe Horizon, Arab American Family Support Center) may provide case management, depending on the specific community-based organization involved

while you look for that information, I just have a quick question regarding family justice centers and housing as you shared earlier.
0:54:42
I wanted to know what does the check-in look like for clients once they're processed and they get into housing.
0:54:49
There's your agency checking with them to make sure that they're stable and they're able to continue to remain in place?
Jennifer DeCarli
0:54:56
Yes.
0:54:56
So that's a great that's a great question.
0:54:58
So when you come into a family justice center on our screen for support and services, you're assigned to a case manager from one of our either city contacted or community network of partners.
0:55:08
That case manager holds your case and helps you with the housing application process and then continues to follow-up with you afterwards to make sure you're a stapling house.
0:55:18
So we really so for example, if SafeRizon has case managers.
0:55:21
They're holding those clients and providing that support.
0:55:24
Same with Arab American Family Support Center.
0:55:26
You know, it depends on the actual CPO providing that support, but the goal is to do that and to ensure that they're safe and stablely housed.

0:55:32
Okay.
0:55:33
Did you find that stat?
0:55:34
Okay.
Rima Rivera
0:55:35
Yes.
0:55:36
I did.
0:55:36
So in calendar year 2023, we saw 9368 clients, and we processed 6643 waivers.
0:55:51
So and also just to clarify, we contract with 9 non for profit social service providers to provide domestic violence services to persons in the community.
0:56:06
That's what I when I was referring to, the our non res providers.
0:56:11
We contract with nonproviders, and they provide core services such as advocacy, counseling, information, and referral, and they sit at the Family Justice Center.
Farah Louis
0:56:22
And the stat you just gave us was for FY 23?
0:56:25
The
Rima Rivera

the statistic I gave you was for calendar year 2023.
Diana Ayala
