2:57:06
My name is Charlene of Powell, and as I said, I'm a identify and that's really important in in the identification as a person who lived experience and subject matter expert on the intersection of domestic violence and homelessness.
2:57:22
I've also been an advocate for social justice and ethical systems practices throughout New York City and on other in other cities across the United States.
2:57:35
So I wanted to first start off with why I'm writing this testimony the city council writes and passes local laws that affect day to day lives of people living and working and or visiting New York City.
2:57:51
One of the things I'm very passionate about is amplifying the voices of survivors of domestic and gender based violence, people like myself.
2:58:00
And that's been a poor driver in my professional career design and throughout my household lifetime among my nuclear and extended family composition.
2:58:11
Often limited and in need of greater investment, many go no many considered considered to be a vulnerable population of domestic violence, including communities of unaccompanied women, communities experiencing on shelter homelessness.
