Masha Gindler explains the Asylum Application Help Center's protocol for handling cases of individuals at age 21 without a parent or guardian. The center provides standard screening and assistance based on eligibility for various immigration relief options.
- Individuals under 18 without a parent or guardian would be referred to ACS, but this hasn't occurred yet
- For those over 18, the center screens for eligibility for asylum, work authorization, or TPS
- The center doesn't track 'unaccompanied minor' status specifically
- Council Member Avilés requests data on applications filed for individuals under 21 and unaccompanied minors

So far, folks that we see that are under 18 have a parent regarding with them.
3:08:12
If they're older than that, we would see what they're eligible for, screen them, and they'll be able to apply for asylum work authorization t or TPS as appropriate.
