10 COUNTRIL DISTRICTS HAVE BUILT MORE AFFORDIBLE HOUSING IN THE LAST YEARS THAN THE OTHER 49 DISTRICTS COMBINED AND HE ASKED ABOUT WHETHER CITY OF YES FOR HOUSING A FORTABBILITY IS GOING TO MAKE A DENT THERE I have a question related to that, but I want to couch it in the numbers here.
2:52:07
Right?
2:52:08
The city estimates that over a 15 year period, these changes could lead to 58,000 to 109,000 more unit city wide.
2:52:16
That's from 78 to a 142 units per council district per year, colleagues.
2:52:22

Really is highlighted for me as a modest proposal citywide such that we have to be very careful as a council and and as we approach final negotiations with the modifications that we're considering.
2:52:48
So my question for you, DCP, and HPDN administration, are there any sets of modifications that would bring the administration to withdraw the zoning text proposal IN THE LIGHT THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO REACH FARE HOUSING GOALS.
2:53:02
10 COMMUNITIES HAVE DONE A LOT OF WORK AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE'S A LOT OF HOUSING PRODUCED THROUGH THIS PROPOSAL.
Daniel Garodnick
2:53:10
THANK YOU.
2:53:10
Well, I APPRECIATE YOUR your point that is important for us to take steps here and that also this does not solve all of the problems of the world or also all of our housing problems.
2:53:24
I will note, however, that it is the biggest effort ever made in the city's history to try to address the challenge of housing scarcity.
2:53:36
So we hope that the council will keep this proposal intact We hope you will evaluate it with the seriousness that the council always does.
2:53:51
I know and expect there will be changes, but we'll look forward to working with you and thinking through those with you and thinking about the impacts of those changes as we get closer to a vote.
