I have a quick question for Liz.
7:40:33
Hi Liz.
7:40:35
Do you think UAP goes far enough in delivering affordability?
Elizabeth Denys
7:40:40
So I think that UAP is a really good start, and I think that we're going to also see additional affordability hopefully through another initiatives like rezoning Coney Island Avenue for additional housing.
7:40:50
I want to note that UAP provides lower affordability lower AMI for affordability than the existing voluntary programs.
7:40:59
And I also wanna note that another proposal on this offering another NIH option for lower income, you know, within my Otter's ownings would provide more options for it.
7:41:10
But I also, you know, I think that it's a good start.
7:41:14
I know that the people in our district are who are most vulnerable are below this income, But I also wanna note that if housing is built through UAP, the amount of money that someone would need for a voucher to be able to get one of those units through UAP would be less than the amount of money if we don't have programs like UAP that help mandate lower affordability.
7:41:37
So I'm thinking of this as one component of many, many, many things we can do to do housing.
7:41:43
Like, this is kind of the zoning component, and I'd love to see an expansion of vouchers.
7:41:46
I'd love to see all of the things in this proposal are trying to chip away at some of the affordability issues.
7:41:53
And I think that plus more will help those most vulnerable in our area with expansion of vouchers and other such programs.
