  • Chino uses a metaphor of a cake with garbage inside to describe the proposal
  • He expresses concerns about the influence of the real estate industry
  • Chino suggests the proposal should go back to community boards for further refinement

Thank you for your testimony.
11:35:08
Just one question for Mister Chino.
11:35:11
Mister Chino, you stated that if you don't like the proposal, is there anything a part of this proposal that you think is a positive?
Theo Chino
11:35:21
There are very a lot of positive thing in this proposal.
Kevin C. Riley
11:35:25
Mhmm.
Theo Chino
11:35:25
But when you build the cake and you put garbage inside and you sprinkle a lot of very good thing, like removing maybe the parking rules or modifying thing doesn't mean that the cake is still good to eat.
11:35:40
It looks good, but it's still garbage.
11:35:42
And knowing where this proposal came from, the real estate industry, and seeing my own landlord who is a criminal nonprofit called Uhab on the list of proponent, and seeing my manager of my building in the list of proponent, and knowing how they work.
11:35:58
I cannot I I say this this is garbage by by every way you you say it.
11:36:05
So it needs to go back to the community board.
11:36:07
It needs to go back to the community to the various community to work it out and to come out with good, better solution.
11:36:15
We are the city of New York.
11:36:16
We are a city of 100 of different ideology, background, and things like that, and the community board.
11:36:25
If you give them the city of, yes, that's a starting document, let's see what comes out as an exit document that you can look at and say, this is our new city of yes.
Kevin C. Riley
11:36:36
Thank you for your testimony, Mister Chino.
11:36:38
