I'd like to know in terms of the parking mandates.
3:24:28
Like, this isn't saying that parking is gone.
3:24:34
It's saying it is optional.
3:24:37
So, actually, nothing changes because the places where developers will have a plan for parking could will remain and potentially given historical precedence, it they they may create more parking spaces.
3:24:55
Can you just speak to why why in the districts that are closer to transit?
3:25:02
Enrich transit neighborhoods.
3:25:05
Why this parking removing this parking mandate is critically urgent?
Jackson Chabot
3:25:09
Totally.
3:25:10
It's fundamentally about housing our neighbors.
3:25:12
You know, I alluded to the parking lot across the street for me.
3:25:14
I would love for that to be supportive of housing.
3:25:16
I bike bike chips on 4th Avenue, which serves as many at risk New Yorkers and homeless New Yorkers, and it breaks my heart.
3:25:22
These people are waiting in line for food, and yet have no place to stay in the evening.
3:25:26
And this isn't near the r train.
3:25:27
There's so much in development being built along 4th Avenue in many of these new buildings have parking because of the requirements even though it's close to the r train there.
3:25:35
And this is true for many of your districts that do have trains.
3:25:38
For those who don't, it's a slightly different dynamic as I was discussing earlier.
3:25:42
But it's vitally important that we build more housing near transit so that more New Yorkers have access to good jobs in Manhattan and across the boroughs close to transit.
