Dany Anthony Galley, a lifelong resident of Howard Beach, testified against the City of Yes Housing proposal. He expressed concerns about the plan's generalized approach, lack of community input, and potential negative impacts on neighborhoods like Howard Beach.
- Argued that the plan wrongly assumes all NYC neighborhoods will be equally affected

Okay.
9:05:20
Good evening, and thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak to all of you today.
9:05:25
My name is Dany Anthony Galley.
9:05:27
I'm a lifelong resident of Howard Beach.
9:05:29
I grew up here.
9:05:30
I went to school here, and I've raised my kids here.
9:05:34
I speak to you for you today to discuss the city of your housing proposal.
9:05:37
I want to cite multiple grievances that I have with this plan, including an over generalized plan, lack of community discourse, and overcrowding schools and other municipalities.
9:05:47
Starting with the problem of the over generalized plan, the city v yes, housing proposal makes the wrongful assumption.
9:05:52
But since every neighborhood within New York City, they will be equally affected.
9:05:55
And one general plan will work for the whole city.
9:05:58
I can assure you this assumption is not only incorrect, but it's absurd.
9:06:01
Each borrower has a specific layout and makeup, and this plan will have greater adverse sex and queens in my neighborhood.
9:06:08
That would be it.
9:06:10
If this plan passes, the streets will become passive cars.
9:06:13
We don't have adequate public transportation and queens.
9:06:16
And the whole reason why many, like me, living queens were Staten Island, and not one of the more urban boroughs like Manhattan of Brooklyn is because I don't wanna live in a neighborhood full of multiple family homes.
9:06:27
I've chosen to buy a house in Harris Beach, because I want to stay in the city that I love without living in a building.
9:06:32
And my neighborhood, like so many others, we enjoy the luxury of easy parking, lower density, and single family houses.
9:06:38
This is why I bought a home here.
9:06:40
I asked this plan, and it's meant to be a guest.
9:06:42
It's up there in the room and ruin the dreams of many families like mine.
9:06:45
Second problem I wanna address is the lack of community discourse while creating this plan.
9:06:49
Meya Adams and his tyrannical administration have decided they know except for us, instead of hearing the voices of communities and the people.
9:06:56
The Adams administration had gone ahead and created this plan that just moved to further an agenda.
9:07:01
That I, among many others, do not get behind.
9:07:04
If someone who's elected to be representative, Adams and his plan does not represent the interest of so many New Yorkers.
9:07:09
I access this committee to us to consider our community's complaints, so they let this plan go forward and understand today.
9:07:15
Final problem that I wanna address is, and possibly most important is the effect of the plan we'll have on our schools and mentality.
9:07:21
This plan, we've definitely mentioned to our office.

Sally, thank you very much for your testimony.
