Joseph McAllister, representing the South Beach Civic Association and Staten Island Civilish United, strongly opposes the City of Yes Housing Opportunity plan. He argues that the plan would negatively impact communities and living conditions, emphasizing that infrastructure improvements are needed before any zoning changes are implemented.

  • McAllister lists eight key areas requiring attention, including roadways, hospitals, police, traffic management, city services, schools, and community engagement.
  • He criticizes the current infrastructure's inability to handle existing development and opposes additional ADUs or new development.
  • McAllister calls for city planning to engage directly with homeowners and residents, rather than just business-oriented entities, before executing any zoning changes.
