I am a resident of health kitchen and also on Manhattan Community Workforce.
10:42:56
All of these things I expressed today are my own and not those at the board.
10:43:01
I'm deeply concerned about the cost of housing in the city and how quickly it has been going up for how long.
10:43:06
Many people I know are highly burdened by their rent and or they live far away from their jobs because they cannot afford to live closer.
10:43:16
I strongly encourage the city council to pass city of yes as it is today or even stronger.
10:43:26
Health Kitchen, Equity Board 4, have seen a large amount of new housing units in the last 2 decades, which I am proud of.
10:43:36
And I welcome my new neighbors, and I think they haven't reached the neighborhood.
10:43:39
However, the city wide housing shortage is not something that by its nature, health kitchen, or even Manhattan can solve on its own.
10:43:49
I'm very happy to see in city of yes.
10:43:53
It's it's gonna affect the whole city, and things like ADUs, lifting parking mandates, content they're zoning.
10:44:03
All the neighbors across the city will in a sustainable balanced way, contribute to riding more homes from New Yorkers to live in, which is what we need to do in order for to actually get into a situation where landlords have less leverage and renters have more.
10:44:23
So with that in mind, I encourage the city council very strongly capacity.
10:44:27
Yeah.
