Theresa Westerdahl, a resident of Crown Heights and member of Brooklyn Community Board 9, testified in opposition to the City of Yes zoning text amendments. She argued that the current zoning in her district is already allowing for significant development and that the proposed changes would lead to unsustainable density increases without proper infrastructure support.
- Westerdahl claimed that over 3,000 units are already being built in her area, with current zoning allowing for 25,000 new units.
- She expressed concerns about environmental protection, OSHA, and DOB regulation violations in ongoing development projects.
- Westerdahl argued that the City of Yes proposal should be put on hold, citing the current climate of indictments and investigations.
