Oh, thank you.
11:40:15
Mayor Adams, a city of yes housing opportunity, worsened the city's displacement prices.
11:40:21
It follows the logic that you have to let the developers build luxury high prices.
11:40:25
That drive up the rent and the real estate tax or the surrounding area in order for them to give you a little bit of so called affordable housing.
11:40:32
In other words, you have to let high rents and massive displacement across the city.
11:40:37
Happen first so that the developers can throw in some so called affordable units that you and other community members compete to get.
11:40:46
Specifically, the city of yes, Absome, who encourage luxury real estate speculators and developers to build the maximum amount of multibray units allow in the current zoning so that they can build additional heights for the so called portable housing, and that's not the solution.
11:41:04
Our communities of Chinatown and the lower east side have been fighting for a better solution, the Chinatown working group resuming plan that will protect existing affordable housing and increase supply of truly affordable housing without massive construction of luxury high rises.
11:41:19
It would discourage real estate speculation by capturing the height of any new developments and mandates a high percentage of truly affordable housing at local income level for new developments.
11:41:31
This is not an NIMP plan or NIMP plan This is the heavy plant, low income housing in my backyard.
11:41:38
Any developer who prioritize people over profit would agree to this plan.
11:41:43
Members of City Council, if you really care about suffering the displacement, we ask they reject CDOBS housing opportunity and pass community led brands like the Shanghai working group plan to protect communities from displacement and real estate speculation.
11:41:59
Thank you.
