Majority Leader Amanda Farías opens the meeting of the Committee on Rules, Privileges, and Elections, acting as chair in place of Council Member Powers. We are joined today by council members, Purina Sanchez, majority whip Brooks Powers, council member Hudson, deputy speaker Diana Ayala, and council member my minority leader, Joseph Barely, is joining us right now.

Today, we will be voting on a nomination by the Queen's Royal President of a member of of the city planning commission and an appointment by the council member of a member of the candidate for Citizens Complete Review Board.

We held public hearings on both of these items during October 9th meeting.

We will vote to approve M71-2024, a communication from the Queensboro president submitting the name of Odishram Raj Ramparshad to the counsel for his advice and consent regarding his reappointment to the city planning commission, pursuant to Sections 31and192 of the city charter.

If reappointed, Mister Rampershot will serve the remainder of a 5 year term that began on July 1st 2023 and that expires on June 30, 2028.

We will also vote pursuant to rule 10.660 of the rules of the council in section 440 of the New York City charter to approve resolution 570 579 for the year 2024, an appointment by the council of doctor Mohammed Khaled, a resident of Staten Island to the civilian complaint review board.

If appointed by the council, doctor Khaled, will serve for the remainder of a 3 year term that expires on July 4 2025.
