Which wage laws are nonunion contractors bound by?
0:25:44
Are there any of of those laws regulated by and are any of those laws regulated by HPD, or are they primarily governed by state imposed minimum wage standards?
Ahmed Tigani

So they're bound by all state and federal labor laws, enforcement largely done by the state department of labor.

You know, this includes minimum wage, overtime, frequency of pay, meal periods, and rest days, the other the other part of it is and I think came coming through the coming through this body, there was recent legislation focused on construction labor licensing, which is a huge and significant piece of the labor workforce on sites, which include bill of rights for temporary workers and other general protections, including the recognition of consignment.

And while we don't have enforcement authority on for necessarily all of these, we have a strong labor monitoring team and the infrastructure that we coordinate closely with all of the other enforcement agencies.
0:26:49
So whether it's the state department of labor, the federal department of labor, at times it's HUD, attorney general's office, other city agencies, and the task force.
0:26:57
So there is this infrastructure for when things come to our attention.
0:27:02
There is collaboration across, but HP does not have the the enforcement authority ourselves.
