Council Member Linda Lee inquires about DVS's role in coordinating events for veterans. Ellen Greeley, Assistant Commissioner for Policy & Strategic Partnerships, explains their approach.
- DVS takes the lead in creating many events, such as those at Citi Field and Yankee Stadium
- The agency organizes events with minimal funding, relying heavily on collaboration
- DVS invites non-profits and city agencies to table at events, creating resource fair opportunities
- A women veterans event was held in June as part of their outreach efforts

And then for the other programs, would you say that even though there's no funding per se in it and you guys are collaborating with coalitions, is it fair to say that you all are the ones coordinating it, or are there other nonprofits or folks that are taking the lead, and then you provide support?
Ellen Greeley

So we've been taking the lead in creating a lot of these events.
1:02:36
We do a very large event at at at Cityfield, with the Mets.
1:02:42
We're hoping to do another one.
1:02:45
We also did the Yankee event.
1:02:46
We did a wonderful women veterans event in June.
1:02:51
It's all, you know, again, with with our money, minimal money.
1:02:58
We're pretty good at, again, collaboration.

What we do is we also invite a lot of the not for profits as well as the city agencies to table, and that's so it becomes more like a resource fair extension in that regard.
