- Molina states he's not aware of any changes but notes that Cushman & Wakefield represents about one-third of agencies while CBRE represents about two-thirds
- Molina adds that CBRE has significantly outpaced Cushman & Wakefield in real estate deals during the current administration (21 deals vs. 3)
- Restler expresses frustration at the lack of detailed knowledge from the DCAS representatives due to their recent appointments
Lincoln Restler
1:34:15
Yeah.
1:34:16
And, again, we were under we asked for deputy commissioner Hamilton is today.
1:34:20
Okay.
1:34:20
I I think we the the question of why Diana Butros and Cushman Wakefield are getting so much more money at the expense of MWBs despite her total lack of experience in office leasing is an open question that all New Yorkers should be asking right now.
1:34:40
So I'd like before, in 2017, when the contract was assigned, the following agencies were given to Cushman Wakefield, ACS, Department of Finance, Department of Health, HRA, Department of Sanitation.
1:34:54
Have there been any changes in the portfolio since miss Butros has been assigned the account holder between CBRE and Cushman Wakefield?
Louis Molina
1:35:02
I'm not aware of any changes as I sit here right now.
1:35:05
I can tell you that Cushman and Wakefield represent about 1 third of the agencies and CBRE agencies.
1:35:12
Their work portfolio represents about 2 third So CBRE has much more many more agencies that they represent than Cushman And Wakefield, and they also outpace Cushman And Wakefield significantly over the course of this administration When it comes to real estate deals, Cushman and Wakefield has presented and worked in with 3, and CBRE in our time in the administration has had 21.
Lincoln Restler
1:35:36
Okay.
1:35:36
Executive deputy commissioner Overton, are you aware of shifts and responsibilities between the agencies Cushman and Wakefield was responsible for versus CBRE?
Shameka Overton
1:35:46
No.
1:35:46
I'm not aware of that.
Lincoln Restler
1:35:47
And when did you start in this town?
Shameka Overton
1:35:49
I believe in September, September 3rd.
Lincoln Restler
1:35:51
Okay.
1:35:51
So about a month and change.
1:35:53
Alright.
1:35:53
6 weeks, 8 weeks.
1:35:55
Okay.
1:35:56
It's a little, again, frustrating to have folks up here who can't answer the questions.
1:36:00
We appreciate your best efforts.
1:36:01
But my understanding is there have been significant new agencies assigned to Cushman Wakefield and Ms.
1:36:07
Butros since she has taken over this account.
1:36:09
Despite over many years, there being a consistent breakdown between what agency CBRE held and what agency's Cushman held.
1:36:14
And that's because some of the in house expertise that CBRE brings to the table, that Cushman doesn't.
1:36:20
So I'm troubled by that shift in responsibility that has been increased to Cushman Wakefield and Diana Butros since she's come into this role.
1:36:31
I'd like to ask about the pending RFP.
1:36:35
Mhmm.
1:36:35
So you said by the end of the year, an RFP's coming out, Cushman Wakefield's the current account holder.
1:36:42
Dynabutros just went on a vacation with Jesse, Deputy Commissioner Hamilton, and Ingrid Lewis Martin.
1:36:48
Do you think it's inappropriate that they're going on vacations together prior to this account that's worth many tens of 1,000,000 of dollars being released for an RFP weeks after the vacation concluded?
