Council Member Restler inquires about the delay in issuing a new Request for Proposal (RFP) for tenant representation services. Commissioner Molina explains the reasons for the delay and the city's plans for the new RFP.
- Molina states that the city wants to increase the number of organizations representing it in real estate transactions from 2 to 5
- The delay is partly due to working with the city's chief diversity officer to ensure opportunities for minority and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs)
- Molina expects the new RFP to be issued by the end of the year

Okay.
1:30:59
So The tenant representation services contract with Cushman expired in November of 2023.
1:31:06
Mhmm.
1:31:07
In January of 24, a negotiated acquisition extension was issued extending until November of this year.
1:31:13
Mhmm.
1:31:14
Why hasn't the new RFP been issued?
Louis Molina
1:31:16
So the new RP represents something, I think, new in that we want to make sure that the city is represented by more than just 2 organizations on its real estate transactions.
1:31:29
And we wanna increase the tenant representation from the current 2 number and our goal is to have 5.
1:31:36
And in addition to that, we were working with the chief diversity off of the city in order to make sure that we give minority and women on business enterprises that work in the real estate sector the opportunity to compete for that deal.
1:31:49
So we had to work with him, the law department, and others to make sure that the language of that RFP allows for that level of competition and opportunity to take place.
