Has New York City Public Schools received feedback from families on whether they prefer centralized my school enrollment process or the previous program specific enrollment process?
2:16:03
Would it parents What did the parents say?
Angela Faloye
2:16:08
So as mentioned, we explained that we had a survey to over 10,000 families.
2:16:16
I mean, they filled out the survey.
2:16:17
So they're happy, and I'm actually going to read just a few excerpts on how they feel about my schools.
2:16:27
Almost all 97% of parents knew how to enroll their child in summarizing, and 96% agreed that the instructions for signing up for summarizing in my schools were clear and helpful.
2:16:43
The vast majority of responding parents were satisfied with the program's application and enrollment process and site location.
2:16:53
In addition, 92% of parents enrolled their children in the summer program location Let me read that again.
2:17:01
In addition, 92% of parents who enrolled their children in the summer program, they were able to do so in the location they wanted.
2:17:10
And then would you like to add to that?
Kate Connolly
2:17:13
No.
2:17:13
I think, yeah, we
Emma Vadehra
2:17:14
we agree very, and seem happy.
Randi Levine
2:17:17
And we're looking forward to continuing to do it.
Rita C. Joseph
2:17:19
Oh, yeah.
2:17:19
You have to talk into the mic.
Emma Vadehra
2:17:22
I Daniel really touched on this, but I do also wanna just say so we do have good feedback from families.
2:17:27
We'll also continue to work and make it better.
2:17:29
From our collective perspective, the things we were able to do system wide by having a centralized process that used my schools in terms of a fair, equitable process moving away from first come, first serve, being able to prioritize our most vulnerable students, being able to plop kids right off the wait list and into the system in a common way, giving families more information about where sites are, about where actual wait list seats are, open seats are, where they are in the wait list, There are just a lot of upsides.
2:18:00
We think for families, almost all of which were directly responsive to feedback from you all or families along the way.
2:18:06
So we'll continue to work to improve, but we do think we've made a lot of progress in some of those shared prior system wide goals.
