Yes.
0:45:01
So thank you for that.
0:45:03
And and definitely agree with my cochair today that the numbers are all going up.
0:45:07
So I'm sure 2025, the numbers will go up for I understand.
0:45:12
They can be in charter school and still be a force to child.
0:45:14
They can be a charter school and still live in temporary housing.
0:45:17
But we still see the numbers that are going up because my students can't go attend a summer programming in schools.
0:45:24
So you see the role if we were to reverse the roles, that's what that's what would happen.
0:45:28
So a couple of questions around attendance, and we saw this during the summertime, and then there was a chalk beat article that said that attendance had dropped, that you guys have to send educators home.
0:45:39
What do what do we do?
0:45:40
How long does it take a child to fall off the roster for you to offer seat, to next to incoming child?
0:45:47
And and the attendance, what are we doing to make sure students are coming, and how are we keeping them engaged, especially my middle school students.
Angela Faloye
0:45:54
Yeah.
0:45:56
Transportation.
0:45:57
So first, I'll speak to the attendance policy.
0:46:00
So this year, the attendance policy we had to fall.
0:46:04
The first was if you did not attend by the Monday of 2nd week, and we did not hear from you after multiple attempts, then we will remove that student and offer the seats to whoever is next in line on the wait list.
0:46:25
So that was the first step.
0:46:27
Then the second policy in terms of attendance was that if you did not attend I'm sorry.
Althea V. Stevens
0:46:33
Could and because this room, I can't hear even with the earpiece on.
0:46:36
You said by the 2nd week.
0:46:37
And could you bring that Michael By
Angela Faloye
0:46:39
the 2nd week?
0:46:39
The 1st Monday.
Althea V. Stevens
0:46:40
Yeah.
0:46:41
Because you already speak thinking.
Angela Faloye
0:46:42
Oh, okay.
0:46:42
This this by the 2nd week, the 1st Monday, if the student did not attend, and after multiple attempts by the CBO and school to reach out to the family and they could not get any response from the family.
0:47:00
That student will now be unenrolled, and that seats will be given to somebody who is next in line on the wait list.
0:47:10
So that was the first part.
Althea V. Stevens
0:47:11
So I just and and I just wanna be clear, isn't the program?
0:47:14
What is it?
0:47:15
6 weeks?
Angela Faloye
0:47:16
7 weeks.
Althea V. Stevens
0:47:17
7 weeks?
Angela Faloye
0:47:17
7 weeks for elementary, 6 or for middle for 7 weeks for elementary.
Althea V. Stevens
0:47:21
So we So we were already at 6 weeks because the 1st week, they weren't there, and we are trying to figure this out by the 2nd week.
0:47:29
And then now we're gonna be calling parents who probably already found other accommodations to come to the program.
0:47:35
So we see where that might be a challenge.
