Neil Barofsky provides an assessment of NYCHA's position to comply with the HUD agreement. He categorizes NYCHA's progress into three areas: well-positioned, not well-positioned, and uncertain.
- NYCHA is doing well in lead abatement, clearing 10,000 apartments and on track to meet obligations
- Some delays in capital projects like elevator and boiler replacement, but expected to be completed within the monitorship term
- Improvements in response times for certain areas, with continued investment needed

I think it's you probably have to put it in oh, Santa Claus is here.
0:09:56
I think you probably have to put it into it is sort of a couple different categories.
0:10:01
I think there's some areas where NICE is very well positioned to meet its obligations, others where it is not, and probably a third area which we just don't know.
0:10:11
So just to give you some examples, you know, NICE is doing a a remarkable job in its lead abatement.

As as Matt mentioned, we they've cleared 10,000 apartments, which is in a really important milestone and are on tracked, meeting the the agreements obligations to abate all all led in all apartments by by the within the time frame set forth.

Knight is a little behind in some of the other big capital projects like elevator replacement and boiler replacement, but they're going to get it done.
0:10:43
It's going to happen within the term of our monitorship for sure.
0:10:47
Also in areas, assuming that there is continued investment in some of the metrics that we described in our report, we're response times for certain areas or continue to improve year on year.
0:10:59
And and we feel like with with the right amount of attention and support, Nitro is gonna fulfill its obligations in those areas, again, assuming that everything stays in the course.
