Matt Cipolla provides a specific example of how the monitor team addressed a resident association's security concerns in a RAD/PACT development. This illustrates their role as a facilitator between residents and NYCHA leadership.

  • A resident association raised security issues that were not being addressed at the neighborhood level
  • The monitor team facilitated communication between resident association leaders and senior NYCHA leadership
  • The monitor's role often involves facilitating communication and ensuring resident concerns are heard

So I think I can give it a more specific example.

So we did have a resident association raise an issue that ultimately related to security, and they felt like the more neighborhood and development level nights employees were not being responsive to to their concerns.

And the help that we were able to provide was bringing together the resident association leaders and more senior leadership at NYCHA to try to make sure that they have the access that they needed to get that to be heard.

And so it it's gonna depend on the issue, obviously, but oftentimes, it's facilitating those types of communications and that type of attention.
