NYCHA's transformation plan and organizational changes

NYCHA developed a transformation plan in March 2021, followed by implementation plans in 2022 and 2023. These plans outline strategies to improve the resident experience and strengthen the agency's future.
- The plans include changes to NYCHA's governance, leadership structure, property management systems, and central support functions
- NYCHA implemented a neighborhood model, decentralizing resources and decision-making to 29 neighborhood offices across the city
- Processes related to repairs, work order management, janitorial schedules, and lease enforcement were overhauled
- New investments in staff training were made to support the agency's mission

As detailed on the next slide on Slide 3, as part of the HUD agreement, obligation to create an organizational plan, Nitro developed a transformation plan issued in March 2021 followed by 2 implementation plans issued in 20222023.

For instance, we implemented the neighborhood model pushing resources and decision making authority away from the central office and into 29 neighborhood offices across the city.
